Initially, Piggy refuses to return, still hurt by her breakup with Kermit. But the gang moves forward, cleaning up the old theater and trying to find a celebrity host for a fundraising telethon. After being rejected by everyone, they eventually "kidnap" to serve as the host.
To celebrate Gary and Mary’s tenth anniversary, the trio heads to Los Angeles. Walter’s only goal is to visit the legendary . However, he finds the studio in ruins—a dusty, forgotten relic of the past. While hiding in Kermit’s old office, Walter overhears a sinister plot: oil tycoon Tex Richman plans to raze the studio to drill for oil unless the Muppets can raise $10 million by the time their original contract expires.
