Released in 2009, The Grudge 3 is the third installment in the American supernatural horror franchise The Grudge . Directed by Toby Wilkins, the film departs from the nonlinear storytelling of its predecessors to offer a more straightforward, chronological plot. The story picks up immediately after the events of The Grudge 2 . Jake Kimble, the sole survivor of the previous film, is confined to a psychiatric hospital where he is eventually killed by the curse.
