This episode is the first of a four-part finale ("By Any Means") that concludes the entire series.

Because Stroh’s primary target has always been Rusty Beck , the team must go to extreme lengths to protect him while trying to lure Stroh into a trap. Key Character Arcs

The team discovers that Stroh has returned to Los Angeles and is systematically targeting people from his past. The investigation is triggered when a young woman is found dead, leading the MCD to realize Stroh is hacking into their systems to stay one step ahead.

Rusty is forced into hiding as the threat from Stroh becomes immediate. His fear and growth throughout the series culminate in his determination to see Stroh brought to justice.

Although this episode occurs shortly after the team is reeling from her sudden death in the previous episode ("Conspiracy Theory"), her legacy and previous work on the Stroh case drive the team's motivation.
