The of Gilmore Girls , titled " Those Are Strings, Pinocchio ", is a major turning point that closes the Chilton chapter and sets the stage for the girls' new lives at Yale and the Dragonfly Inn. Plot Summary

: Rory delivers an iconic valedictorian speech, moving the entire audience (and her family) to tears by crediting Lorelai as her primary inspiration and "guide".

: Lorelai discovers that she no longer qualifies for financial aid at Yale because of the $75,000 investment return from her father. To ensure Rory can attend her dream school, Lorelai sacrifices her savings for the Dragonfly Inn.
