(1999) is the seventh installment in the Puppet Master horror franchise. Directed by David DeCoteau, it serves as a prequel set in 1902 Paris, detailing the origins of the series' protagonist, André Toulon.

The film follows a young Toulon (played by Greg Sestero ) who learns the mystical secret of animating inanimate objects from an ancient Egyptian sorcerer named Afzel. When Afzel is pursued by the murderous servants of the god Sutekh, Toulon must use his newly animated "retro" puppets to protect his love, Elsa, and keep the secret of life out of evil hands.
