AZ opens with smooth, sophisticated imagery, setting the scene of money laundering and high-stakes games. His verse establishes the "aristocrat" lifestyle that The Firm aspired to, moving beyond the corners to "politic daily with diplomats".

Often cited as the standout, Foxy delivers a complex verse involving a "mafia math" breakdown of drug profits. While the math itself has been debated for years, the technicality and confidence of her flow solidified her place as a heavyweight in the genre. Symbolism and Legacy

Today, the track is remembered as the gold standard for collaboration, proving that four distinct voices could unite under a single, cohesive vision of urban excellence.

The song is structured like a mob meeting, with each member of The Firm bringing a distinct energy to the table:

Watch the lyrical breakdown of Nas's classic track Affirmative Action:

Bringing a darker, more visceral edge, Cormega ’s verse is famous for its cold-blooded street justice. He paints a picture of a "new boss" willing to eliminate anyone "too soft" to maintain the empire.

The title "Affirmative Action" is a clever play on words. While the term traditionally refers to policies for social equity, Nas uses it to describe a proactive takeover of the rap game by his crew—a literal "affirmative action" to claim their throne. Produced by the Trackmasters , the haunting, string-heavy beat provided the perfect backdrop for their "Art of War".

My Paris Agenda 🇫🇷 This is one of my favorite pos My Paris Agenda 🇫🇷

This is one of my favorite posts to write because it explains the why behind my trips.

For the last few years, I have planned a January trip to Paris. After a busy fourth quarter, it is my time to reset. I go to think. To plan the year ahead. To set personal and professional goals. I start slowly and ease into the year.

For those who are new here, I thought this might answer a few questions about what my trips actually look like. How I plan my days. What I prioritize. Even how I budget for them.

Plus, a little preview of what is to come in 2026!

Curious what a trip to Paris looks like for me?
