The findings of this study have significant implications for the music production industry. Software cracking can have a negative impact on software developers, who rely on revenue from software sales to fund further development and innovation. The music production software industry has witnessed significant growth in recent years, with many producers and musicians relying on software tools to create and produce music. However, the high cost of these software tools can be a significant barrier for many users, leading some to seek out cracked versions of the software. This paper examines the phenomenon of software cracking, with a specific focus on Mixed-In-Key 10, a popular music production software. We investigate the methods used to crack the software, the motivations behind cracking, and the implications of software cracking for the music production industry.
Our results show that many music producers and musicians are aware of the existence of cracked versions of Mixed-In-Key 10, and that some have even used these cracks to obtain the software. We also found that the motivations behind software cracking are complex and multifaceted, with some users citing financial constraints, while others cited a desire to access software that was not available to them through legitimate channels.
