Mean Girls (2004) is a comedy that follows Cady Heron, a teenager who moves from Africa to Illinois and enters public high school for the first time. She quickly learns about the strict social hierarchy and the "Plastics," a popular and ruthless clique led by Regina George. The New Girl and the Law of the Jungle

Cady, homeschooled by zoologist parents, finds that high school social rules are much like survival in the wild. On her first day, she meets outcasts Janis and Damian, who give her a "map" of the school's various cliques. To their surprise, the Plastics—Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith—invite Cady to join their elite circle.
