Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne are two incredibly dim-witted but well-meaning best friends living in Providence, Rhode Island. Their lives are a series of dead-end jobs and failed dreams, currently manifested in a "Mutt Cutts" dog-grooming van shaped like a giant sheepdog.
Once they reach Aspen, they discover the briefcase is full of cash. In true "dumb" fashion, they spend almost all of it on a lavish lifestyle—including iconic orange and powder-blue tuxedos—while "replacing" the money with handwritten IOUs.
