He’d reached for a block, his fingers had twitched, and the wood had scattered across the floor like bone fragments. Seconds later, the thing from the woods had taken him through the window. Now, the tower was rebuilt, but it was fragile—a physical manifestation of their remaining luck. Sarah looked at the tower
