He finally looked up. Piercing, stormy gray eyes locked onto hers, holding a gaze that was far too intense for a simple student-advisor relationship. "Sit down."
"You've been avoiding me, Elena," he stated quietly. It wasn't a question.
"You know exactly why I'm avoiding you," she whispered, her resolve melting under his intense stare. "We can't do this. Your position... my standing... it's too risky."
