There were no NPCs (Non-Player Characters). Instead, the "Role-Play" was driven by the environment itself. As Elias moved his character through the square, text began to scroll across the bottom of the screen in a typewriter font:

The simulation blinked to life. Elias found himself standing in a low-resolution town square. The architecture was uncanny—buildings that looked like Victorian houses but were stretched too tall, with windows that resembled lidless eyes. There were no NPCs (Non-Player Characters)
